Introducing Myself
Hello..assalamualaikum..good morning..good afternoon..good evening..and what so ever.. :)
First of all, I would like to thank Allah S.W.T. for still giving me a chance to breath..
Alright,lets start introducing myself. I'm Nur Wahida Binti Zainal Kamarudin from Taiping ,Perak Darul Ridzuan. I was born in Kuala Lumpur 23 years ago which was on 30th June 1988. I'm a student of UiTM Shah Alam since almost five years ago. I'm doing Tesl programme and this is my last semester. My father is a retired army and my mother is a housewife. I have three siblings including myself. My elder sister is a radiographer in Hospital Taiping and my younger brother is in Form 6, in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan King Edward VII, Taiping. There is nothing interesting about me that I can share here. I just finished my practicum which was during last semester and what I can say is, being a teacher is not as easy as we think. Teaching profession is a very tough job ever. And I'm here as a future teacher will work hard to be a great teacher. Insya Allah...
In terms of my computer skills..honestly, I would rate myself as a novice. I do have a personal computer at home and I admit that I will switch on my personal computer almost everyday. But the thing is, I only know basic things on how to use it such as using the Microsoft Words which I always use it for my assignments, surfing the internet and editting my photos. This is my first attempt creating a blog and I'm looking forward to learn more in order to enhance my computer skills.
Based on my knowledge, software is a computer program that helps us doing lot of things such as the Microsoft programmes. There are also a lot of other online softwares that we can use as a reference and guideline. As for hardware, it is the computer parts which are for example the CPU, the keyboard and so on.
I do have some experiences in answering online questions such as through the i-Learn portal and also other online questionnaire for example, in Youth.com whereby I'm one of the members of the club.
During my practicum last semester, I did use computer as one of the materials in teaching. It was a success as the students were very excited to learn and they did give full attention while I was teaching as their other teachers rarely use this kind of thing in teaching.
In my opinion, the usage of computer/technology in language teaching is one of the effective methods. As we can see, we are now in the ICT era. Besides, the students themselves sometimes are more knowledgeable in this computer/technology thingy than the teacher and it somehow helps the students to participate actively in classroom activities conducted using this kind of method.
Last but not least, I have a very high expectation towards this course even though I admit that I am not into computer subject because I think it is complicated somehow. But I am looking forward to learn more and I believe I can change my perception about computer subject and also upgrade myself into this technology stuff..insyaAllah.... :)
